Pilates
What is Pilates?
Pilates is a gentle and precise form of exercise which improves strength, mobility and flexibility. It tones and strengthens muscles without adding bulk. Compound and isolation exercises are performed so no part of the body escapes attention.
Pilates trains the mind as well as the body. Every movement is controlled and focused bringing a powerful sense of calm and relaxation.
Pilates can improve posture and correct alignment by working on the core postural muscles of the body. Strengthening these muscles (which include the pelvic floor) helps to prevent injury, will firm and flatten the stomach and can improve some problematic back conditions. Muscle imbalance is corrected, joint mobility improves and the body develops better flexibility and suppleness.
Pilates, with it's precise, controlled, flowing movements working with the breath, can bring you the calmness of mind and strong toned body you've always wanted.
